What's in a Name?
Lauren’s name means “of laurel.”
Sage represents all the wise and wonderful people who support her—her husband Jonathan, her parents, and many others.
The ampersand between is representative of the unions we celebrate as two souls become one!
We believe that flowers have the power to transform spaces and connect to past generations, and we strive to foster genuine events where your most important people can gather together and celebrate. We know the importance of family- it is an honor to celebrate with yours, and we structure our business to intertwine ours.
Moments, like flowers, are fleeting, so we work to create enduring memories for our couples’ most important days. Every element of floral design is an opportunity for creative artistry, from curating your floral palette to writing the recipes to bring your colors to life through each arrangement.
Our Philosophy
Laurel and Sage is a floral design studio founded in 2017 specializing in weddings and events in Birmingham, Alabama and available for traveling wherever the blooms take us.
We are inspired by color, movement, depth, and seasonality and love creating organic, floral-focused designs that capture your vision with intention.
By sourcing high quality, seasonal, and often local ingredients, we ensure that your flowers will be beautiful, fresh, and environmentally conscious.

Lauren has always loved flowers and the way they display the beauty of their Creator. Her love of all things botanical began early, learning names of various plants from her mother and delighting in her grandmothers’ gardens. She created Laurel and Sage in 2017 out of a love of the artistry of flowers and finds inspiration in her work from distinctive color palettes, the transitions of the seasons, and the detail found in each unique bloom.
Lauren's favorite flower is a ranunculus (but also changes with each season!) and she feels most inspired on a sunny day at the Botanical Gardens. She loves fall leaves, blueberry muffins, a perfect sunset, tropical climates, and lady grey tea. She and her husband, Jonathan (official van-packer and right-hand man for L&S), live in a Birmingham bungalow with their daughter Eleanor, sweet pup Shadrach, and cat Basil!

We strive to be precise and detail-oriented in our work. We always want to be better today than we were yesterday, and we strive to keep creating unique and innovative designs. We work closely with each couple to create floral designs that represent your individual style and vision.

We take several steps to prioritize sustainability and minimize waste. We reuse and recycle packing materials, source local blooms when possible, compost all organic matter, reuse vessels, and upcycle our candles. We also donate most wedding florals after your event to bring joy to several local Birmingham organizations.
